Professors Ginny Hatch and Tony Walsh published a book with Oxford University Press on capital punishment that will be in circulation Spring 2016. Capital Punishment: Theory and Punishment of the Ultimate Penalty thoroughly explores one of the greatest moral issues facing American Society. The authors take a balanced approach in presenting death penalty research, adding two unique chapters to the literature: Science of DNA and Philosophy of Punishment. Professor Hatch teaches the Death Penalty in America course each fall.


Dr. Danielle Murdoch and Dr. Laura King recently conducted an evaluation of the inmate video visitation program at the Ada County Jail. The evaluation was comprised of several parts including interviews with inmates, correctional officers, and stakeholders; surveys of inmates; and secondary data analysis of institutional records. Drs. Murdoch and King completed the final report and presented the results of the evaluation to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office in June of 2016.
