Portrait of Cathe Scott

Cathe Scott has over thirty years of marketing and business management experience. She has designed and implemented marketing programs to family owned companies ranging from an amusement park to a boutique winery. She also worked in the corporate travel industry for over a decade, primarily with BCD Travel, a privately held global company with annual sales of over $24 billion. Cathe managed contract negotiation for such accounts as US Bancorp, Levi Strauss, Harland Financial Services and others. During this time she won multiple service awards and was recognized as a national leader in travel management.

In 2004, Cathe left the travel industry in order to stay at home in Portland with her children, Georgia and Beverly. To balance work and home, she became a Real Estate Broker for Windermere, and at the peak of the market, was a top ten producer in Portland’s highest producing office.

A spousal job transfer resulted in a move to Boise in 2010. A long time volunteer for the Oregon Foodbank, Cathe found a home in Boise working as the Community Engagement Coordinator for The Idaho Foodbank. In this capacity she recruited, trained and motivated over 15,000 volunteers per year. She also oversaw the Community Food Drive program and many signature Foodbank events such as Hunger Bowl and Stamp Out Hunger. In 2013 she was awarded The Idaho Foodbank’s Mission Vision Values award for her commitment to the goals of the Foodbank.

As Program Director for the Andrus Center for Public Policy at Boise State University, Cathe oversaw the day to day operation of the Center as well as all events, including the regionally successful conference, Women and Leadership. At the same time, she served as Program Manager for the School of Public Service’s NEW Leadership Idaho program. NEW Idaho is a week long immersive leadership training program for undergraduate females.

Cathe joined the Idaho Policy Institute as Operations Manager in Spring 2017 and will be instrumental in initiating processes for tracking and monitoring multiple projects. Her background in marketing and program management will play a role in assisting with report and proposal production.

In her free time Cathe enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and almost anything that involves being outdoors.
