Completing a Master of Arts degree in Political Science allows students to deepen their knowledge of American and international politics, improve their analytic writing skills, and expand their familiarity with advanced quantitative methods. After taking eight graduate courses, students will complete a Master’s thesis or professional project based on research begun during their graduate coursework. The program of study requires 30 credits beyond a Bachelor’s degree and must adhere to all policies and procedures of the Graduate College. Full-time students must be enrolled with a minimum of nine credits each semester, while part-time students must be enrolled with a minimum of three credits.
Faculty in the Boise State Political Science Department are active scholars who pursue innovative research around the world. The Master of Arts program harnesses their expertise to guide students as they gain skills in professional research in either the Accelerated or Traditional MA tracks.
