Alumni Association Honors Eight Broncos for their Accomplishments, Service including Jess Byrne

Jess Byrne, Alumni, studio portraitPassionate about his alma mater, Jess Byrne has been involved in the Boise State University Alumni Association since 2004, serving on the executive committee for several years beginning in 2008, and holding the position of president in 2011-2012.

Currently an active member of the Past Alumni Leaders Chapter, Jess has dedicated countless hours volunteering for several committees and assisting at alumni events including the Boise State Auction. Jess chaired the Scholarship and Awards Committee for many years, and chaired the search committee for the Vice President of Advancement. He recently chaired the search committee for the executive director of alumni relations and participated in the College of Business and Economics search for a new dean. He also served on the Boise State University Foundation Board 2012-2013.

Jess and his family reside in Boise and spend much of their time following Boise State sports, whether sitting in the seats, on television, or even on the radio. Jess earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental health in 1999 and his master of public administration in 2004. As deputy director for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, he coordinates a variety of activities in support of the state’s efforts to preserve the quality of Idaho’s air, land and water.
