John Freemuth, a professor of public policy, was quoted in an Idaho Statesman story about Westerners’ relationship with the federal government regarding land policy. Freemuth said he expects the issue will remain contentious despite movement toward collaboration.
In addition, Freemuth will speak and moderate several sessions at a conference aimed at developing a coordinated policy on fire, invasives and sage grouse habitat. The Next Steppe: Sage-grouse and Rangeland Wildfire in the Great Basin is Nov. 5-7 at Boise Centre. Freemuth will present a session titled “Why All This Matters.” Read more at http://www.nifc.gov/fireandsagegrouse/
