MPA Student, Thomas Strauss, in action – Spring 2017

The Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) held their 3rd annual Student Simulation Competition. The competition is divided into eight regions across the globe, with the nearest region convening at the University of Washington in Seattle. A total of 46 students gathered from the Northwest region, including the first-ever Boise State student to compete, MPA Graduate Student, Thomas Strauss. The theme of this year’s event was food security. Students were to use simulation software to develop a plan for achieving the United Nations’ second goal within a series Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), which aimed to eliminate food insecurity worldwide by the year 2030. Learn more about this event at the NASPAA Student Simulation Competition website.
